Empower the Public with Art

A group of artists are trying to involve the public into their interactive art works.

They are members of the New American Public Art, a non-profit art organization based at the Artisan’s Asylum at Somerville, Boston.

This winter, they added a system to the light pillars at the Wharf District Park, where people can change the color of those pillars by texting to a certain phone number.

Previously in New York, they had built a big face on which people can project their own faces.

Journalist Hao Liu (call him by his nickname, Learner ^_^) visited their asylum this week. The place seems like a factory where artists produce all kinds of seemingly weird works.

Below are some of the artists Learner met.

Want to see more of their art works?

Go and seek asylum at their place!
